Admission
The University of Calabar International Demonstration Secondary School is a selective school, in terms of seeking students with sound academic ability as well as strengths in the areas of sports and the arts.
We offer a broad, rigorous programme and are looking for evidence of a student’s preparation to succeed.
Application forms should be submitted together with the application fee, one recent passport size photograph, photocopies of immediate past academic records, biodata page of the international passport or birth certificate.
Incomplete applications, and those not on an original form, will not be considered
Admission Process
To gain admission into the University of Calabar International Demonstration Secondary School, a candidate should be able to meet up following requirements:
AGE REQUIREMENT
Students seeking admission must be up to 10 years of age by September of the new school year.
ENTRANCE
- Pay the sum of three thousand Naira (₦3,000) into the UCIDSS account at Unical Micro-finance Bank. (this amount is subject to change). Thereafter, the teller should be brought to the school for the admission form.
- All applicants will be required to sit for the School’s Entrance Test which lasts for 5 hours. English(1/2 hour), Mathematics(2 hours) and General Paper(1/2 hour) are the subjects tested. Candidates should come along with writing materials, mathematical sets and a non-programmable calculator to write the test. Students are expected to perform at average (70%) or above average in order to be granted admission.
- Score the required cut-off point needed for the year depending on the number of students to be admitted for the school year.
The School reserves the right NOT to admit a child even if he/she has passed the entrance tests.
ADMISSION PROCESSING PERIOD
UCIDSS academic year starts in September and ends in July. We encourage applicants to apply as early as possible. Application for admission will only be processed when all necessary documents as listed in the application form are received.

A copy of child’s birth certificate
One recent coloured passport photograph of the child.
English translated past academic records (non-English speaking schools).
Completing the Application Form
For the purpose of proper documentation and effective record keeping, it is important that an applicant fills the application form correctly.
The form should be completed by the parent or guardian and duly signed.
Please state your child’s or ward’s name and surname as you want them to appear on all his or her school records. The names supplied follow the child all through his/her stay at The University of Calabar International Demonstration Secondary School and appears on his/her reports and certificates.
While it is expected that your child/ward already has a functional knowledge of English Language, please state the language(s) he/she speaks at home.
Ensure that the e-mail address given is active and one that you visit daily.
Attach one recent passport size photograph, photocopies of immediate past academic records, biodata page of the international passport or birth certificate. If your child is transferring to The University of Calabar International Demonstration School, please attach the Transfer Certificate from that school or the school’s Principal/Registrar’s email address. The duly completed application form should be returned to the school’s administrative office.
On submitting the form, please confirm the Entrance Test date.
